The streamlined solid wooden bench is meant for indoors. Its elegant lines fit in homes as well as public areas. When needed, the seat can be upholstered.
The name Seminar refers to the collection’s uses and origin. The Seminar chair was originally developed as a model piece for a seminar when Nikari’s founder, master cabinetmaker Kari Virtanen gave a lecture for design students on traditional wooden chairs and wanted to concretise his ideas. Besides seminar halls, all items of the Seminar collection are ideal for a wide variety of public spaces.

Nikari is a wood design studio and furniture manufacturer, established in 1967. Their first years were marked by close collaboration with masters of Finnish architecture and design, such as Alvar Aalto and Kaj Franck. The company's foundations rest upon the idea of working to bring out the best of wood in contemporary design.

Kari Virtanen (born 1948) is a Finnish carpenter and designer, who with his hard-working attitude has gained his place as one of the world's most recognised wooden furniture experts. In 1967 Virtanen founded Nikari, a company producing the highest quality solid wood furniture. Johanna Gullichsen is a Finnish textile designer, born in Somero, southern Finland. Gullichsen originally studied art history, literature and languages at the University of Helsinki, before studying the skill of weaving at Porvoo Crafts School. Gullichsen creates an extensive range of woven textiles for modern living, embodying bold and simple patterns, natural materials, and a down to earth sensibility.
