Finn Juhl’s signature sense of visual lightness carries effortlessly into the Nyhavn Dining Table — a natural evolution of his original desk design. His focus on practicality and precision is evident in the table’s refined proportions and thoughtful construction. Easy to maintain and designed to age beautifully, the table can be customized in a variety of finishes. When not in use, the extension leaves hang vertically at either end. The tabletop is available in teak, oak, walnut, Oregon pine, or linoleum in the colors ‘Black’ or ‘Mushroom’.
The Nyhavn Dining Table reflects Finn Juhl’s evolving dialogue with functionality and form. While earlier designs were often sculptural and exclusive, this table marked a shift — a more accessible piece that still carried Finn Juhl’s artistic sensibility. Inspired by the clean lines of American modernism, he added his own refined detailing and craftsmanship.

DESIGNED BY
Finn Juhl
Rather than thinking in terms of practical construction, Finn Juhl had the mind-set of a sculptor, when he shaped a piece of furniture. In the 1940s and 1950s, this way of working had never been seen before. His ambition was to design furniture with movement and life. Finn Juhl took pride in making both the structurally supportive elements of the furniture and the seated person look as though they are floating.
