Moonstone began as an imagined journey to an uncontaminated planet of rocky forms — chunks of brass, crystal and stone interacting in a creative frenzy, surreal shapes cast out from a lunar landscape and brought back to Earth. Each piece emits a soft open flow of light downwards while its outer surface stays opaque, so the faceted silhouette turns sculptural when the beams catch it.
The pendant is the collection reduced to a single form. Four shapes: Arch, Dome, Nest, and Shell. Each is hand-made, so the faceting differs piece to piece; the marble-dust finish gives the surface a dry, mineral quality that takes light the way plaster does rather than the way glass does. Handmade fibreglass with a marble-dust finish, and thermoformed glass with a hand-made Battuto finish, on brushed brass, brushed bronze, blackened brass or brushed nickel. Cable in fabric-flex white or black. Light source not included. IP20.
