As Sebastian Herkner says: ‘Design needs a human touch’. In his design ‘Gentle’—an armchair and a dining chair—, this touch is truly tangible, because of the manufacturing process.
By hand, craftsmen model clay moulds for each element, into which aluminium is subsequently die-cast. Place your hand on the armrest and you will feel the traces of their sculpting work. You are shaking hands with the makers, across the boundaries of time and countries.

Linteloo was founded by Dutch designer Jan te Lintelo in 1993, inspired by his own concept of ‘the feelgood factor’; sofas and chairs that were inherently comfortable and relaxed.

Sebastian Herkner
Sebastian Herkner is a German designer and a graduate of HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design. In 2006, he founded his eponymous studio, where his work spans furniture, objects, interior architecture, and exhibition design. His approach is defined by a deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, combined with a curiosity for modern technologies and a bold exploration of colour, materiality, and texture.
