The design is built on a clear relationship between the tabletop and the base: compact, round, or rectangular surfaces rest on bases composed of distinct vertical elements, arranged asymmetrically beneath the tabletop. These supports are off-center and are distributed to create a dynamic balance of solids and voids. The six configurations—generated by combining three tabletop dimensions with two different base heights—allow the side tables to be placed side by side, creating variable compositions where heights overlap and tabletops brush against one another without ever fully coinciding. The marble tops define the object’s presence, while the legs in leather introduce a vertical component that visually lightens the top.
The contrast between the surface of the top and the bases creates a clear visual tension. The design is reduced to a few clearly legible elements: a top, three or four supports, no superfluous elements.
BRAND HIGHLIGHT
Frag is a family story that begins with great-grandfather Giovanni’s decision to become an entrepreneur while very young. Today’s Frag has new DNA following the entry of the fourth generation into the family business a few years ago. The president, Franco Di Fonzo, is now accompanied by his children Michele and Federica Di Fonzo, Product Manager and Marketing Manager, respectively. Michele and Federica joined the company after finishing their studies and embarking on their own professional careers, bringing their inherited passion and dedication with them, and added their innovative know-how to its reserves of knowledge and business skills to help the Frag brand along its path of growth and development.
