An expressive glass vessel that appears to stretch under its weight serves as a shade in this pendant. The glass element here is different from that of the Hold Sconce and Hold Pendant in that is round and not flattened, and it is also of a different size. The glass element hangs from a brass “pin” element, made of a continuous ribbon of the brass bar, which opens and closes to allow for removal of the glass.
The brass socket is suspended on an exposed fabric-wrapped electrical cord from the top of the “pin” and suspends the light bulb within the opening at the top of the glass. The “pin” element is available in two lengths. Available in multiple glass color combinations, and brass hardware finishes. Part of the SkLO + AvroKO collection – a collaboration between SkLO and the AvroKO Partners.
BRAND HIGHLIGHT
SkLO began in 2009 in a small town in the wine country of Northern California. The three founders felt a synergy when they first met, and SkLO reflects each of their different backgrounds and abilities. Pavel has a long history of working with the glassblowing tradition of his native Czech Republic. His love for and intuitive understanding of Czech glassblowing is the driving force behind the brand. Karen’s practice as a craft artist and jeweler has always had a focus on glass as a material, and she brings her point-of-view about the relationship between craft and design. Paul is a designer with an architect’s belief in simplicity and honesty in design. Together, they are dedicated to working within – and preserving – the Czech glassblowing tradition.
