The Eugene tub armchair is a clear homage to the iconic style of the 1950s and ’60s, as reflected in its rounded shapes and a design that seems conceived to envelop and embrace the body. The creative duo DRAW Studio reinterprets and re-proportions these forms with a more contemporary approach, giving life to a seat defined by a rigorous geometric construction, featuring a circular plan and a solid wood cross base. The wooden elements are arranged radially with order and symmetry, supporting the generous round seat, whose cushion is enhanced by an elegant central button.

At the top, three uprights support the enveloping semi-circular, conical backrest, which appears to attempt to inscribe the human body within a circumference. The decorative brass screws add a vintage allure, highlighting the artisanal craftsmanship of the entire armchair.

Luca and Mattia graduated in 2005 in industrial design at Politecnico di Milano, but only met in 2008. At that time, they were working in Milan in the same project team, and they had the opportunity to exchange views and ideas on product design, immediately perceiving a strong synergy and gradually establishing a deep friendship beyond the professional activity.
