Cocktail Bench
Inspired by the lavish cocktail parties of 1950s America, the Cocktail Bench reflects the era's booming economy and extravagant social scene, which Finn Juhl experienced firsthand through his influential American friends. Alongside the round Cocktail Table, this piece celebrates the glamour of the time while remaining highly functional. Crafted from solid walnut or oak, the bench features an intricate, detailed design, with beautifully rounded corners and slender angles uniting to form a timeless aesthetic. An optional, matching cushion is available to order.
In 1951, Finn Juhl designed the bench for Baker Furniture in the USA, where it was marketed as the 'Rectangular Cocktail Table'. However, in his original drawings, Finn Juhl simply referred to the piece as a 'bench' – a detail that inspired us to name it 'the Cocktail Bench'. Its refined details echo those of the round Cocktail Table, which was reintroduced in 2009.

DESIGNED BY
Finn Juhl
Rather than thinking in terms of practical construction, Finn Juhl had the mind-set of a sculptor, when he shaped a piece of furniture. In the 1940s and 1950s, this way of working had never been seen before. His ambition was to design furniture with movement and life. Finn Juhl took pride in making both the structurally supportive elements of the furniture and the seated person look as though they are floating.
