Jamie Durie

Jamie Durie is a designer and the founder of Durie Design, the studio he established in 1998. It began in landscape architecture and now works across architecture, interiors, landscape and furniture.
That breadth produced the term the practice is known for — transterior — for design that carries a room out of doors and brings the garden back in. The same thinking runs through his work for Riva 1920: the Bungalow collection, from dining chair to bench and table, and the Tubular dining chair, each built on the company's solid-wood craft and finished by hand. The studio's work has been recognised with international design awards.
