A Tollgard Guide to Milan 2026

A MATTER OF SALONE

Each year Milan brings together the ideas, materials, and makers shaping the future of design, and 2026 is no exception.

From quietly radical craftsmanship to bold new directions - explore our guide to the brands and makers defining Milan this year.

Salone shifts this year’s focus to material matters, with ‘A Matter of Salone’ the title of 2026’s communications campaign. This year we are asked to consider the material world not just as physical substance, but as a footbed of memory and latent possibility.

Developed by Motel40 alongside a team of photographers and set designers, the campaign explores design through four raw, naturally occurring composites: stone, petal, wood and sponge.

In turn, each material embodies core properties. Stone represents origin and permanence; the petal – sensuality and innovation; wood stands for the continued relationship between humans and nature; and finally, sponge, which speaks to transformation and reinvention.

Frank & Flux: Pre-launch of the 2026 collection

Ahead of the launch of the 2026 collection in Milan, this new duo offers a promising preview.

Fallingwater is an architectural icon. The house, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1934, with its world-famous silhouette of horizontal layers, was Jan te Lintelo’s inspiration for ‘Frank’. Frank Lloyd Wright stated that form and function are one.
