Composed of jutting sea-cliff footpaths and clapboard houses, the offshore of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Fogo Island is set against a striking coastline. Celebrated by the remote coastal community and its visitors, Sandy Cove is a curved gathering place. Sebastian Herkner’s use of buttresses echo both the natural formations propping up the rugged coastline and their prominence along some of Fogo’s most humble and beautiful structures.

Founded by design aficionado Stephan Weishaupt, Man of Parts launched in 2019. Rather than representing a particular aesthetic, the brand reflects the attitudes of its customers; global citizens for whom travel and exploration is a way of life. Man of Parts’ collection of seating, tables, lighting and accessories is available through Tollgard’s London showrooms.

Sebastian Herkner
Sebastian Herkner is a German designer and a graduate of HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design. In 2006, he founded his eponymous studio, where his work spans furniture, objects, interior architecture, and exhibition design. His approach is defined by a deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, combined with a curiosity for modern technologies and a bold exploration of colour, materiality, and texture.
