Silver Table
One of Finn Juhl’s most renowned and extravagant designs, the spacious Silver Table from 1948 is a remarkable example of his ability to merge bold aesthetics with refined craftsmanship and rare materials. The sterling silver inlays serve not only as an exclusive decorative detail but also as a functional guide to seating capacity — accommodating anywhere from four to fourteen people. The table is available in four variants. Please note that the extension leaves cannot be stored inside the table.
The Silver Table was originally crafted by master cabinetmaker Niels Vodder in Brazilian rosewood for the Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition in 1948. Later, it was produced in two additional wood combinations, featuring a darker tabletop with a lighter frame. This elegant oval table, suited for dining or conference settings, can be extended with two additional leaves – all while the frame remains fixed in place.

DESIGNED BY
Finn Juhl
Rather than thinking in terms of practical construction, Finn Juhl had the mind-set of a sculptor, when he shaped a piece of furniture. In the 1940s and 1950s, this way of working had never been seen before. His ambition was to design furniture with movement and life. Finn Juhl took pride in making both the structurally supportive elements of the furniture and the seated person look as though they are floating.
