The classic fluting of a Doric column becomes the starting point for Dorica, a collection of storage furniture which reinterprets the elegance of classical Greek architecture by transforming it in a contemporary key. The concave slats give vertical architectural rhythm to the surface, while the new DeFauvé stainless steel finish amplifies this visual interplay, highlighting the three-dimensionality of the form and creating reflections which transform each piece into a sculptural presence. The sideboard is completed with spacious internal shelves, designed to accommodate objects of various kinds with both practicality and refined elegance.
Doors are entirely clad in metal with an inner door in polished stainless steel. The structure is made of lacquered wood RAL 3005 with a back in a flat metal sheet.
BRAND HIGHLIGHT
Contemporary design is fundamental to De Castelli, and the company has created its own collections of furniture and products in collaboration with some of the world’s leading designers. Bookcases, storage units, tables, chairs and lighting are shaped in hammered brass, mottled copper, weathered steel and délabré brass. Working closely with architects and designers on bespoke commissions, as well as offering finishes and furniture for domestic use to consumers, De Castelli’s stated aim is to “bend metal to the requirements of different spaces and uses, to shape it to the tastes and desires of a sophisticated and demanding clientele”.
